A 10-Inch rear-ported subwoofer increases bass output, while the sound bar's 300-Watt peak system increases the power for a one-of-a-kind performance. Built in Dolby Digital decoding and optical, RCA and 3.5mm inputs allow for easy setup, so you can spend more quality time with the legendary Klipsch sound. We recently purchased a Panasonic P60GT50 and wanted a nice sound bar for it. A quick trip over to Costco and we came home with the Yamaha YAS101 sound bar. It was OK if sitting directly in front of them, but lacked fullness of sound and lacked a wide enough sound stage for our room’s configuration. Back to Costco and this time we came home with a Sony BDV-T79 5.1 solution. The Yamaha sounded fuller, and even with the wireless sub and wired surround speakers, the wires kept getting in the way and were not aesthetically pleasing for the room. So, due to our room’s configuration a full 5.1 solution is out of the question and we were off and looking for a good alternative. We tried the Bose CineMate II and found the sound lacking the fullness we desired. Swung past the Bose store and listened to the CineMate 1 SR and wasn’t impressed at all considering their price and the joke of a 3D sound stage they attempted to produce. Off to the Internet and more searching occurred until I stumbled across the Klipsch HD Theater SB 3. They had just been released and I wasn’t able to locate a review anywhere on them, but I had enjoyed a 5.1 Klipsch solution we had used in our previous home so I took a chance on them. Wow, what a difference! This is a great 2.1 soundbar solution that provides (1) a broad sound stage, (2) rich/full sound, and (3) clear dialog. The others could provide 2 of the 3, but not all 3. Hands down, the SB3 is a clear winner.

Initially wrote this as a response to another thoughtful user, but thought it might offer a subjective experience from an amateur, yet picky listener:Very satisfied after listening over the past 48 hours (I'm a believer in letting new speakers enjoy several hours of burn-in time). Looks like I've finally found a soundbar and sub that satisfies my very selective ears that enjoy crisp highs, mid-range clarity and deep, strong bass.Three other soundbars I've ordered ... and returned:The Energy Soundbar Elite sounded like hollow cardboard with a sub that had little power.The Boston Tvee Model 30 had a great soundbar, but the sub also had shallow sound.The Bose CineMate soundbar sounded pleasant, but slightly muffled with another disappointing sub.All three of these units that I returned had side-facing subs as opposed to this Klipsch soundbar that has a down-firing sub. For some reason, this makes a difference in my living room where I have ceramic tiles and not wood or carpet. I'm also very satisfied by the clarity of the Klipsch soundbar - far superior to the other three soundbars. I'm also (unexpectedly) a big fan of the 3D option (faux surround sound) on the Klipsch soundbar - it's the best I've ever heard.I was tempted to wait for the release of the new Polk SB9000, but after reading the specs of the unit (only an 8" sub and smaller speakers on the soundbar, compared to this Klipsch) and a customer service rep that said the release delay was due to "working the bugs out", I've decided this is absolutely the best unit on the market at the price ... for my picky ears.

Ok first things first, Buy local! Check out your local small business!!! YOU WILL GET A BETTER DEAL!!!!This soundbar is GREAT! The sub that comes with it is amazing, It goes down to 28hz! Put that in your Bose cinemate and smoke it. :0 The bass is very tight and is distortion free. I can't stress that enough. most soundbars start to sound muddy when turned up , but this one just somehow sound even better LOUD! I love it and would purchase again! It sounds great with movies and music which is something that most soundbars can't do.If I could improve this unit in some way I would add Apple airplay, blutooth and build the power supply into the soundbar (for some reason it is in the power cord and is a pain to hide when mounting the soundbar to the wall)
