I used to have one of those 5.1 speaker systems, but my wife and I were tired of all the speaker wires all over the place.So we wanted a clean easy system like a sound bar.We went to Best Buy, and received some good help with all the options.The reason we went with this was that it has a wireless subwoofer, blue tooth, and fun smart features.I can hide the subwoofer anywhere in the room.I can stream audio from my iPhone.And I can watch Netflix or Hulu Plus without hooking anything else up.The sound is good, crisp, and clean.It comes with an optical cord which provides for superior sound quality.The only thing I need now if for my Harmony One remote to get the right software update.So for now, I use the 3035A model with the remote.

I recently moved to a smaller living area. In my old home, the main TV room was expansive and capable of handling a true Home Theater experience. So I'll admit that I've been spoiled by surround sound. When I moved, I didn't want to potentially blast out my neighbors on movie night so I decided to forego everything except the television speakers. You can imagine what a difference that was! And not a good one! When I saw this sound bar, I thought it might split the difference. I could enhance my sound output, increase overall performance, and still not be overly intrusive. And for the most part, this unit has satisfied those basic requirements.Physical Set-Up: We chose to mount the Sound Bar just to get it out of the way and be positioned for optimal output for the space. Instructions were provided, but it's a fairly intuitive process as well. Everything included, the physical process of getting things connected, mounted, and in place was about an hour.Connectivity: It's become increasingly unusual for electronic purchases to come with any necessary cables. Here, however, an optical cable is provided. Of course, you still need an HMDI cable to attach it to your TV. So you might want to have one on hand (or order one with) so that you're ready to go once the Sound Bar arrives. The subwoofer is wireless and the pairing is quite easy. Depending on your TV set-up, though (mine has about a billion devices already hooked up), you may have to play around with what is going to work best for your system.Applications: The system applications include all the usual suspects such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, CinemaNow, YouTube, etc. Having all of that available already through both my Blu-ray and my gaming device, it's not adding functionality. But it is nice to have the sound stream through the bar.Sound Quality: I certainly have found this to be a solid performer. Of course, anything would be better than the TV by itself. The output is good, and the sound doesn't noticeably degrade as you push the volume higher. Overall, this has done well with music and with streaming video. It is a little less stellar when you're channeling other devices through it.Shipment: On a side note, this arrives in a massive box that clearly showcases the contents. I was fortunate to receive this while I was at home or my UPS driver said he wouldn't have left it. Fore that reason, you might want to track its progress and be ready for its arrival.I'd recommend this for smaller spaces, it gives you a bit more flexibility than committing to a more extensive sound system. A decent add-on to my current home entertainment set-up. KGHarris, 6/13.

I just wanted a simple sound system, my last one was a 5.1 and the wiring process is a nightmare. Plugged this in and it was ready to go. The sound is tremendous, I am scared to push it all the way to 40.If you are looking for this to serve as your primary TV speaker system make sure your tv has an optical sound output, or an ARC capable HDMI (1.4 and up) input.The apps are so so, a little slow, but its nice to have everything in one. I now only have my cablebox and speakers plugged into my tv so its minimal wires.PS. it does come with a stupid sticker that leaves behind a residue.
