I purchased the VSB205, a 32 inch soundbar to correct the poor quality sound of a recently acquired Vizio 26 inch screen LCD TV. The TV like most thin profile small screen TVs' sold today has two small rear mounted speakers that are incapable of producing satisfying sound quality. The VSB205 has clearly solved that problem. Vizio recommends it for use with 32 inch or larger TV sets but it fits nicely above the TV in my entertainment armoire. The VSB205 is easy to set up. In my case I used the Vizio furnished cable. The earphone output on the TV to standard RCA stereo inputs on the soundbar. The sound is quite satisfying with more than adequate volume for a bedroom TV set. No low bass to speak of but I am more than happy with this product. Some may question whether spending an additional 100.00 dollars for the soundbar to use with a 270.00 dollar TV is a wise choice. In my opinion it is. All small screen thin profile LCD televisions with rear mounted speakers produce crummy sound. If you want to improve that an external speaker(s) is the way to do it. One additional comment. The first soundbar arrived in a factory sealed box without a remote. The return to Amazon was fast and easy. Thank you Amazon! The second soundbar arrived a few days later. 'It can't be ..... Again no remote.' Clearly Vizio had a problem. A call to Vizio customer service was pleasant and fruitful. The remote shipped by Vizio arrived within a weeks time. If you want to correct weak anemic sound from a small screen television the Vizio VSB205 soundbar is highly recommended.

I bought this sound bar because Vizio listed it as an accessory to my LED E260MV TV. The problem is, like many newer TVs, my Tv uses an optical audio output to connect to a sound bar or theater system. This sound bar does not have an optical audio input. This sound bar uses a RCA to 3.5mm audio jack. Check your manual first. We did connect the sound bar to an older TV. It sounded better than the speakers on our TV. It has some empty background noise, "air." I would have kept it if it was compaitble because the speakers on my TV are terrible. Now I'm returning both the TV and the sound bar.

I really like this unit. Having only a 3.5mm stereo input and a stereo RCA input(switchable)is not an issue, making it pretty universal. It comes with a RCA to 3.5mm cable. Rather than using the digital or optical output from the TV, I use the earphone jack. That shuts off the TV speakers and lets this fine soundbar stand alone in its quality. The sound is so much better than the rear speakers of my Phillips 32" flat screen. It has a full range, with the ability to enhance the bass via Sub+- and it also has SRS WOW HD for enhanced music or movie audio. It also has a Sub output if you should ever want to add even more bass. I have also been able to utilize the soundbar with my ipod and a cd player - anything with a standard analog audio output can plug into this soundbar. I like the covered enclosure, and the adaptable feet, allowing it to stand on the tabletop, or be mounted on the wall. Installation was two steps - plug in the power, plug in the TV. A full one year parts and labor warranty is a big plus, with tech support via phone, fax, email, or the web. Well packaged with everything you need, including battery in the remote. I think it was a great deal for under $100.
